Jared and I went down to Vegas for the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), in other words, the Academy Awards for Hair! Although it was hot, it was still nice to spend a few uninterrupted days with my hubby, even if it meant walking around, literally, with my skin melting off my face. We got to visit some salons while down there so Jared could get an idea of what Vegas offers, in terms of future employment. I was a good and faithful wife and let him go to all the buffets he wanted, and even walked the strip TWICE, once at night, and the other during the DAY in the middle of the heat even though all I really wanted to do was sit in front of the air conditioner.
YOWZA. Us driving through amazing Utah
That is the St George temple in the background
Driving through the canyons of Arizona is the BEST part of the trip. There is something humbling about driving through something so monstrous to help remind you of how inconsequential you really are.
I think that's Nevada in the background....
Yes, we are driving full speed and still had time to take a quick shot! I think that Jared is doing his tribute to Zoolander...
This is even more safe. I am in the passenger seat and not only is Jared driving full speed, but now he's not even looking at the road. That was a GREAT idea!
Jared on the pedestrian overpass above the strip. He looks surprised, huh? Don't worry, I even counted to three...
Although blurry, this is my all time favorite picture. Jared is standing backward on the escalator while I am a few steps above him also going down the escalator. The fact that I even got a shot at all, albeit blurry, is a testament to my ridiculously awesome photography skills.
The famous Bellagio water fountain show. It was really well done, and a lot of fun to see. The best part is that there are actually about 50 people in front of us, but because Jared is so tall, he totally shot all of these photos over their heads! That's my big boy! LOL

The best part about Vegas is that now I have no need to ever go to Paris, Greece, New York City (although I have been before, I hope to never go back), or Venice. I have a shot with the Eiffel Tower so I can mark that off my list of things to do...
This is Jared and me waiting for the monorail. Honestly, this was the best decision we ever made. It took us from our hotel all the way down to the strip, and we could ride it as often as we wanted the whole day. We had tried to find parking when we went down there the day before, and it was nice not to have to worry about the headache of driving in the traffic. We did, however, have a bit of trouble remembering where all of the monorail stops were and that led to a bit of a three mile hike, but I am not going to go into that...I blocked it from my memory already.
Raaaaarrrr! That is me being VERY scary. I still cannot believe that I have not been picked up off the street to join Broadway shows yet. How can they not SENSE my amazing acting abilities? I am like transformed in this photo...I guess I'll never know.
Jared watching the Gondola's at the Venetian. If we ever go back to Vegas, that is DEFINITELY where we are staying. I loved it! Gondola's in Italy, checked off my list of things to see....
I am so sad to say that this is the only picture we took of our outfits for the NAHA. We looked pretty snazzy. Jared was a freakin' rock star in his new duds. I, on the other hand, was very Sarah Palin...
These pictures are taken during the awards. To get the party started, they had acrobats come and jump on these massive trampolines on either side of the stage. They were honestly jumping so high up in the air I was petrified for them and THEN they would do tumbling moves and acrobatics. It was awesome and probably my favorite part of the show. Well, with one exception. A lady who won an award got up and she said, "First of all, I would love to thank God...for making Johnny Depp because he is FINE! Thank you Jesus!". It was sooooo funny. Her speech alone made the trip worth it for me.
