Ah Team Lee, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

Okay, I just have to let you all know how much I LOVE my team at work. We have a lot of fun together and still, miraculously, manage to get some work done. Each Wednesday we have what we call "Wacky Wednesday". It is just an activity or treat that we have on Wednesdays to set that day apart from the rest. We have done all sorts of things, sausage sandwich potlucks, hostess bars (yes, there was a pile a foot tall with twinkies, ho-ho's, cupcakes, pretty much every delicious artery-clogging treat you can imagine), otter pops, etc...Mostly it's just a great way for us to take a break from the crazy work and have fun together. What better way to create team unity than to eat treats together, right?

Last Wednesday we were able to use some of our team budget and head down to Jason's Deli for some sandwiches. The sandwiches are okay, but there is FREE soft serve (well, I guess it's not free, because I bet they wouldn't be happy if I walked in, got a cone, and then left, but it's included in any purchase). This was my first time at Jason's and anyone who knows me knows I LOVE soft serve. So after I dutifully finish my lunch I walk over to get a cone. I stick the cone under the spout and pull...but it has A LOT more resistance than I thought so I almost fell over. Needless to say I was not off to a good start, and already my friend Ann was pretty much about to lose it because she was laughing so hard. I finally pull the lever down enough to start getting some ice cream and it goes CRAZY on me! I am talking all-out, spewing, 100 miles a second ice cream trying to fit in the cone. I am not in the least bit experienced when it comes to getting soft serve in a cone (I mean, hello, I just buy them at McDonald's!) so I didn't have the whole, move the cone around in small circles thing down. And THIS is what transpired...

Don't you just love how I am having to hold it at an angle because it is lopsided and the center of gravity is WAY off!? Let's just say, hopefully next time my team will be able to bond over something that doesn't involve laughing at me.

  1. I LOVE LOVE the idea of a hostess bar! Suddenly, my mind is flooded with visions and ideas for one of my own.. TEXAS style. :)
