Rockaway Beach Part 1: The Drive

For the first time in our married lives, we decided to go on a REAL vacation. A vacation to somewhere new. A vacation that did not consist of just going for a conference or to visit family for a special event. Jared and I discussed for weeks where we should go and how to plan it. Ultimately, we decided on a coastal condo rental in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. I don't even know how to describe this trip and feel as if I am doing it justice. It was magical. The days were long and wonderful; filled with new adventures and relaxing moments. Truly, the best part was just making memories with my beautiful family. I often joke about how difficult my children are, but I truly enjoy being a mother and this trip made me especially grateful for the beautiful kids. Enjoy our trip in parts - and through pictures :)
No trip is complete without red vines and cheetos - as demonstrated from CJ's face

JoJo did so well on the trip!

To save on gas, we drove the Sonata. It was a tight fit, but totally worth it! Although there were DEFINITELY times that the volume was more than we could handle.

Since the kids are still pretty little - we ended up breaking the trip up into two days. We stopped and stayed at a cute hotel with a continental breakfast about halfway. As you can see - the kids were KNOCKED OUT!

Here starts Day 2. Everyone was well-rested and in a great mood. Which is a blessing because Day 1 was rough!

Rockaway Beach is not far from Tillamook - so we made an obligatory stop at the Tillamook factory. The full tour was being renovated, but we did a quick tour and found some favorites in their gift shop.

Here I am as we get close to the beach. Can't you just feel my excitement?

Our view from the condo. It was breathtaking.

The front room overlooked the beach and had tons of windows and natural life. I was in heaven.
