CJ's First Meal and 6 Month Update

Is anyone else completely shocked that it's been 6 months already!? I know I am. My little "baby" doesn't seem to be much of a baby at all anymore. He is rolling over, chatting up a storm, standing (with our help of course), grabbing everything in sight and there are teeth. Did I mention teeth!?? With everything that is happening, it is just such a joy to see him grow and develop everyday. He is SO STRONG. I think that's what I hear a lot of, other than "He's HUGE", which is by far the comment we get the most, not that anyone doubted he would be a big kid considering his parents... In case you were wondering, yes, he did rip through his 9 month pajamas already, and no, his legs do not fit in a Bumbo chair. But as a good friend of mine reminded me, being a baby is the only time it's okay to be fat, bald and toothless :)Here he is in a walker. He isn't quite cruising around yet, but he can definitely push himself backward and turn around. It's only a matter of time until he's into EVERYTHING.

What with the teeth and all the growing, I decided it was finally time to get him some rice cereal. I have thought about it for about a month, but the doctor kept saying that he was growing just fine (I think THAT'S an understatement) and so there was no need to start him on solids before 6 months. This past weekend, I decided to give it a shot! My mom was there with me and she said that the first time, most babies are just investigating it and so very little ends up in their mouth. I joked and said that he was a Joyner, so he would eat whatever was in front of him. Well, I was right on the money! He didn't look twice. Spoon after spoon he just slopped that rice cereal down. Needless to say, now he's a pro! I won't bore you with all the details, but here's a few pictures to remember this oh-s0-momentous occasion!

Christian is an absolute joy. He is all smiles as long as you are smiling at him. His sleeping is getting better too, although the appearance of teeth is making that a little less regular. All in all, he is the light of my life and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to raise this sweet little boy :)
