I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you.

John 14:18.

I know there is so much blogging catch-up to do. Going back to work has given me a run for my money! There just doesn't seem to be enough time in my days! But today, I have something special to say.

Anyone close to me knows that life has been beating us down on several fronts at once. It is easy to be caught up in the sorrow, pain, suffering, and stress of it all. It is easy to feel "forsaken" of the Lord. To feel alone and comfortless. As the days turn into weeks and months, I think it becomes harder and harder to maintain focus and faith; that eternal perspective which keeps us sane and helps us put one foot in front of the other each day.

Today I had the most wonderful blessing, and I need to share it.

I have been running ragged and I have company coming tomorrow. My house was a disaster! So I decided to call a sister from my church who cleans houses to come and help! She was so kind and willing to work around my schedule...and my VERY tight budget. I felt blessed to have her come and help at all! As I ran out of the house to work, dragging my two kids with me, she said she would lock up the house on her way out. Wonderful! I paid her for 3 hours of work and just said that whatever she could get done in that time would be a huge help.

My husband came home almost 7 hours later, and text me that she was still at the house; that she had cleaned the entire place top to bottom! In a panic, I asked him how much more we owed her.

Nothing. She said it was a gift! A GIFT.

Verna Curtis, you are a Saint. You exemplify the love and charity of Christ. What may have seemed like a small sacrifice and gift of service for your friend was the reminder I needed that God hears and answers my prayers, and that I am not forgotten. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
